Andrew was born and raised in South Africa, prior to immigrating to the UK on completion of his university studies, where he read MPhil Political Management. Serving as an infantry officer in the British Army for a number of years, Andrew left the service at the rank of Captain, returning to South Africa in April 2016.

It was at this time that he took up his role as a Trustee with Veterans for Wildlife. Moreover, as the organisation's Chief Operating Officer, Andrew is responsible for the execution of all Veterans for Wildlife projects in-country.

Raised with a passion for Africa and its wildlife (Andrew's family originates from Rhodesia), the strategic vision of Veterans for Wildlife resonated very strongly with him. Bringing a unique blend of military experience, local knowledge, as well as diverse international exposure and connections, Andrew provides real-time support to the charity on a day-to-day basis.
